#AutomATAhon19: Hackathon for testers

#ATAGTR2019 is continuing the #AutomATAhon tradition that was started for the first time in 2017. This is the 3rd edition of the competition. Meant for testing community to participate in an automation challenge (Hackathon)

In-fact the competition is meant not only for the testers but all the testing organizations too.

So, If you are into automation and you are ready to show case your and your organization’s automation capability this is the competition to be a part of.

Remember there would be live application scenarios and live automation challenge up for grab. Jury members would be there to evaluate and more over you get to participate in #ATAGTR2019 as conference delegates.

Lunch -> 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM

2:00PM to 5:30 PM -> Jury Evaluation, presentations and demo

 

Registration fees: INR 30,000/- (+taxes) per team. This fee entitles the team members a conference pass to #ATAGTR019 for both the days.

 

What would you get

  • Winning team of the competition will be provided 100,000 INR (One Lakh Indian Rupees) Cheque (The winners will announced on 15th December at the Closing ceremony of #ATAGTR2019), along with a team trophy and certificate for each team member)

Rules – #AutomATAhon19

  1. It is a team event (maximum 5 members in the team). Team can be of minimum 1 person or maximum 5 people. (Registration fee and winning amount remains same irrespective of the team size)
  2. Problem statement will be provided to all the teams at the start of the event along with hook to a GIT repository. Participants have to automate the problem statement and hook with a CI system like jenkins.
  3. Participants will have to carry their own laptops and tools
  4. Participants can use any tool or internal framework, participant should be able to run and demonstrate test execution either on ATA machine or their own in case of any connectivity or proprietary issue
  5. Participants would be using internet during the competition
  6. Participants are suggested to carry their own internet dongles (although the internet facility is being planned, but due to concurrent bandwidth consumption, the official internet connectivity may be slow or drop completely)
  7. One person can be part of only one team
  8. One organization can nominate as many teams as they want
  9. Teams will not be allowed to talk to each other during the competition
  10. Participants can also form a cross organization teams (which means that team members can be there from different organizations)
  11. Evaluation will be based on following points
  • Quality and stability of automation
  • Ability to modify tests (changes, addition and deletion of test scenarios)
  • Speed at which changes can be incorporated
  • Speed of execution
  • Maintenance effort required for automation
  • Integration smoothness with CI tool
  • Integration with other shift left / continuous testing tools

Prasad is currently head of DevOps Consulting at Tieto, prior to this he was lead and a solution architect for Center of Excellence at Tieto.  Prasad worked as a director at Capgemini and was instrumental at formulating many new IP and developing new cutting edge solutions for Capgemini Financial Service. Prasad excels in sharing his knowledge with the community and is also part of ATA automation competitions like #CTHackATAhon and #AutomATAhon as Jury members.

Durgesh Joshi a thought leader with 20 years of experience in leading organizational-wide Quality & Efficiency Programs. Durgesh has been with Amdocs for more than ten years. He currently supports testing pre-sales and leads the Test Centre of Excellence (TCoE) implementation, Test Assessments and measurements/benchmarking programs. Durgesh has authored many papers and presented in prestigious SW testing and international conferences.

Jyoti Shah is a Test Lead at Wipro Limited

Jyoti is a passionate tester with around 10.6 years of industry experience. She has a plethora of experience in various Automation Frameworks including TESTNG, JUNIT, Robot Framework, REST and Protractor.

She is a volunteer at Agile Testing Alliance and is keen about knowledge sharing.

I am currently working as an Automation Manager across all IT portfolios at Veritas Technologies LLC. Overall, I have extensive experience in managing End to End Testing activities for multiple engagements, specializing in Test Automation using various tools and technologies. Before Veritas, I have worked for organizations like Barclays Bank and National Stock Exchange IT.

I am very passionate about automation and keen to build business value for the organization through test and process automation.

Aditya Garg has over 22 years of IT experience and he has been a test architect and principal consultant excelling in designing, strategizing and architecting manual and automation testing solutions. His primary focus has been in the area of establishing and leading testing center of excellence and practices, managing large IT projects, undertaking testing process studies using Six Sigma, CMMi and TMM models, proposing QA solutions, performance engineering and architecture reviews, designing automation frameworks, exploring open source test automation tools/frameworks and Business development.

Aditya has not only managed to establish the entire testing services grounds up but has been a chief innovator in testing processes, test automation and performance testing areas. Aditya has set up offshore testing service centers for large clients from sizes ranging from 10 to 100 people.

Aditya is a Certified Trainer Agile Testing, Qualified Project Management Professional (QPMP), Six Sigma Black Belt, ISTQB certified foundation and advanced level Tester, Sun Certified Java Programmer, Presenter in International conferences on Project Management, Quality and Testing.

Aditya holds B.E. CSE from Jodhpur Univ and MBA Finance from UMASS Lowell, MA, USA.

Krishna has 18 years of experience in quality assurance across software development lifecycle. He has designed, developed and managed solutions/products for test automation and customer experience management His primary responsibility at Qualitykiosk is to manage central R&D unit and actively working on products to leverage AI/ML in Quality Assurance and Application Performance Engineering space.

Previously in his career has established center of excellence for test automation and application performance management.

Manish has over 19 years of experience in increasingly responsible roles in Quality Assurance space. He has sphere-headed several strategic initiatives such as setting-up a niche skill QA CoE, leading an innovation venture globally and setting-up a Quality Engineering Practice. Manish is a thought leader and an active contributor to industry through ideation, seminars, conferences and events covering next-gen technologies such as Machine Learning, IOT etc. and an advisory to millennials.

Over 10+ years of experience in to the cutting edge technologies like Android, SaaS, BYOD, MDM, SDN-NFV including CPE like routers and other embedded devices. Sumit specialises in test automation using open source and in-house tools.

He has worked with MNCs like Samsung Mobile, Reliance Jio and Electronics Arts (EA Mobile Games) before Joining Vodafone, Pune.

He is Electronics and Telecommunication Engineer. He has also completed Post graduate diploma from Centre for Development of Advanced Computing (C-DAC) which is an Autonomous Scientific Society of the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology, of the Government of India.

He is active speaker and has represented some of the key testing conferences and forums. He has published several white papers with respect to test automation and contributed to test automation community.

18+ years of experience in software quality assurance spanning across various roles in delivery, consulting, solution architecting, research and development.

Global work experience across Europe, America and India that includes heading the CoE for Continental Europe from 2010 to 2018 based out of Amsterdam.

Currently leads Technology Centre of Excellence (CoE) for Quality Engineering & Assurance in Cognizant India. The key responsibility includes driving automation strategy for the practice by conceptualizing and creating new solutions and service offerings based on emerging technology trends like Life Cycle Automation, Zero Touch QA, Cloud Assurance, AI-ML Assurance, Blockchain Assurance and establishing new delivery models like on-demand services and crowd testing.
